Initial out of box setup
Port x5 (my network is isolated for new device setups) are for a Palo Alto with a default IP of 192.168.1.1
DHCP on these ports are
192.168.1.4 - 192.168.1.254
GW 192.168.1.3
You need to disable Zero Touch through SSH upon booting though Putty
Plug laptop into MGMT port with your static
Plug ethernet1/1 of Palo Alto into working network (mine is X5)
Log into MGMT Port 192.168.168.1
Set DNS servers
Delete Virtual Wires
Change 1/1 to Layer 3
Assign static to 1/1 (Just use the IP that pulled from DHCP)
Example: 192.168.1.69/24
Now set the Service Route Configuration (all of them) to 1/1
Add Virtual Router
default:
Router Settings: ehternet1/1
Static Routes:
Name: To-WAN (or whatever)
Destination: 0.0.0.0/0
Interface: ethernet1/1
Next Hop → IP Address: (Example Gateway) 192.168.1.2
Metric: 10
→ OK → OK
Make sure Interface1/1 is still on the default router
